Hi, I’m Brittany Johnston.
Before Brooklyn North, I spent years in treatment centers and private practice, sitting with people through trauma, life transitions, and long stretches of feeling stuck or disconnected. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the body — less a fixed plan than a partnership you help shape, moving at the pace you set.
My Approach
I'm less structured and more flow-focused: we follow what surfaces and stay with it, at the pace you set. A lot of how I work comes back to the body — EMDR alongside yoga-informed somatic work, expressive arts, and psychodynamic work — so we're not only talking through what's stuck, we're noticing where you hold it. If anxiety or depression shows up inside a transition, we make room for it. Reaching out is the hardest part — and you've basically done it.
Led By You
Less a fixed plan, more following what your body is telling us. You set the pace; I stay with you in it, building from what's already there.
Built To Last
Steady, trauma-focused work that helps you find footing — not just through the crisis, but in the longer stretch of feeling like yourself again.
